I sometimes detour from the Blackwater Valley Path on my way in to work for a bit of variety. It’s not unusual to see a grey heron fishing, however rarely can I spend enough time to see one catching a fish though. On this occasion he caught this fish moments after I arrived. He was fishing so close I even had to remove the tele-converter to fit him in frame. After swallowing his catch he then turned his attention to some young goslings, thankfully mum and dad were on the ball and swiftly moved their brood away.
